Writing tone options

Describer Settings & AI

Default, Minimalist, Professional or Friendly: choose the voice of every new description.

In AI Generation Preferences, Writing tone sets the voice used for every new description.

The four tones

  • Default: straightforward and balanced. Reads like a good product page, not a loud advertisement
  • Minimalist: essential information, succinct. Short sentences, and no feature list unless the product truly needs one
  • Professional: formal, polished tone. No slang, no hype, no exclamation marks
  • Friendly: casual, conversational tone. Warm and approachable, with almost no exclamation marks

Tips

The tone is store-wide. To fine-tune it for one task, add a custom instruction, for example Speak directly to the reader as "you". Test a new tone on a few products with Replace existing descriptions on before rewriting the catalog.
