Match the length to the product: short for simple items, long for products shoppers research.
There is no single best length. Pick it per task based on what shoppers need to know.
Suggestions
- 1 or 2: simple, low-price or self-explanatory products such as stickers, basic accessories or refills
- 3: most products. A solid default for apparel, home goods and gifts
- 4 or 5: products with several features worth listing, such as bags, tools or skincare
- 6 or 7: considered purchases shoppers research, such as furniture or electronics, when your product data has enough detail

Describer never invents facts. If a product only has a title and one photo, a level 7 description has little to say and may feel repetitive. Add details to the current description or tags first, or choose a shorter length.
