What Describer changes in your store

Describer Getting started

Describer only writes the product description field. Titles, prices, images and tags stay untouched.

Describer updates one field: the product description you see in Shopify admin under each product. The new text is saved as HTML with paragraphs and, for longer lengths, short feature lists.

What Describer does not change

  • Product titles, prices, variants and inventory
  • Product images and their alt text
  • Tags, product type, vendor and collections
  • SEO title and meta description fields

Existing descriptions

By default, a task only writes products whose description is missing or short (under 60 words). Turn on Replace existing descriptions in a task to also rewrite substantial descriptions. Describer keeps true details from the current description when Consider the current description is on in Settings.
