Replace existing descriptions

Describer Bulk tasks

Rewrite descriptions that already have 60 words or more, or leave them alone and fill only short ones.

Off (default)

With Replace existing descriptions off, Describer only writes products whose current description is missing or very short, under 60 words. Products with a substantial description are skipped and use no credits.

On

Turn it on to overwrite the current description even when it is already substantial, for example to apply a new tone, a longer length or new instructions to your whole catalog.

What happens to the old text

  • With Consider the current description on in Settings, Describer keeps true, specific facts from the old description and improves the writing
  • Describer does not keep a copy of the previous description. Test on a few products first, or export your products from Shopify if you may want the old text back
